Everyone that knows me knows that I have an obsession with dolls.

For years I've collected, lost, and gained many beautiful dolls.

In 2004, I started making dolls. Today, I find myself getting back to collecting the work of some fantastic artists. I have had people ask when will I start making dolls again. To be honest, I truly do not know. I loved the process of creation, yet my obsession now steers me back to collecting my own rather than create for others.

You see there is comfort in a doll that allows one to use her imagination. Don't get me wrong, I definitely had a chance to spread the creative wings as I either painted or sculpted a little baby...But I was missing the child in me. I wanted to get back into what made me love dolls in the first place. The act of play.

Now for some, you might feel that I am attempting to recapture my childhood. Perhaps, but what I find I love about my dolls the most is that they are my way to relax and enjoy simplicity. Or, enjoy making characters and creating stories or creating fashion. The list is endless.

So now I just want the inner child to have some fun.

So what have I been collecting? Well for the last 10 years I was stuck on Tonner's dolls as they were the most affordable (if you call a couple of hundred bucks afforable) dolls that I can get my hands on. However since last Christmas, I came up with a way to get the dolls I want...I layaway or I will buy the dolls without a face - up in order to get it at reasonable prices. Now my obsession has taken control as this year I have acquired some dolls that I use to feel were out of my reach. I have an EID Ashanti doll that I love. Now known as Edie is pictured above. I also have on layaway a Heritage Doll from Iplehouse that I cannot wait to get as he will be Edie's mate. I also have a Bo-Bergmann doll and I am anxiously waiting for my first Kaye Wiggs doll.

My goal was to get at least 4 dolls for 2016. Which I have done. But last night I saw this beautiful boy and girl bjd at Dollshecraft that I have to get. After that I will have to allow the funds to rebuild. So I think acquisition of my precious dolls will be on even years. The odd years will be a time to rest the pockets, yet still have fun within my obsession :).

If you happen upon this blog, I hope that it gives you an understanding of my love for dolls and hopefully, I will share with you my fun.

Look forward to seeing and getting to know other doll lovers.

Oh, here is a glimpse of my playing:
